Some time ago I sold an effect called OPINION POLE. The production of an Appearing Pole covered in newsprint, you produced from the pages of a newspaper. I have since stopped making the Opinion Pole.

The best part of Opinion Pole was not just the pole itself, or the novel concept of a pole that looked like it was made of newspaper, or even the topical gags that could be made during the production. The best part was the actual gimmick that secretly held the pole while you leafed through the newspaper, page by page, before reaching in and producing the 8 ft long object that was impossible to hide in a newspaper. That’s right.  You could take a folded newspaper from your briefcase, flip it open, show every page and produce an 8ft pole!

And so I have decided to release the best part, the special gimmick on its own at half the original price. This gimmick will allow you to PRODUCE ANY STANDARD APPEARING POLE from a newspaper. The only type of pole the gimmick will not hold is the larger, genuine 10ft poles. Any other 8ft Original Appearing Pole, Soda Straw, McDonald’s Straw, Jester’s Appearing Pole etc will fit the Pole from Newspaper gimmick.

The gimmick supplied will take you just a couple of minutes to attach to the page of a newspaper using double-sided sticky tape. Most of the tape you need comes with the gimmick, and once prepared, you can use the setup over and over. Simply insert the prepared page into the center of the latest edition of your paper, and you are ready to entertain.
