At the 27th NZ Magicians
International Convention
held over Queen's Birthday Weekend 4th-7th June 2004
Auckland based magician
The Amazing Chicane (Wayne Rogers)
was honoured with the Supreme Award for excellence for a New Zealand
magician . . . the Grand
Master of Magic Award.
In thirty five years the Grand
Master of Magic Award had been presented
only twelve times.
Chicane was the lucky thirteenth.
The Amazing Chicane is a full time
professional magician and magical inventor
selling his original creations worldwide. As a writer he is a regular contributor
to
Magicana Magazine. He is the only New Zealand Magician to have lectured at
the
Hollywood Magic Castle. In 2001
he undertook an extensive lecture tour of England,
Scotland and Ireland.
In addition to his many performances
of magic ranging from children's' shows through
to Corporate events,for
a number of years Chicane has been principle magic prop
builder for theNew
Zealand Ronald McDonald Show.
Chicane started out in his magical
journey around age 10.
Before turning his hobby into
a full time job, he had a several careers working
in architectural drafting, television
as a director and transmission coordinator
and in advertising as a commercial
producer.
