CHICANE is equally at home entertaining with Close-up magic for a corporate black tie affair, entertaining families at a Shopping Mall, clowning around at a Child's Birthday Party, or performing Mind Magic . . . a combination of intuition, suggestion, psychology and magic presented in an exciting, humorous and highly entertaining way.

Chicane's Magic is light-hearted and off beat. Two favourite items are "Sawing Through a Spectator" and a "levitation" using a volunteer from the audience.

Chicane has received numerous awards at New Zealand magic conventions and in Australia where he won Best Children's Entertainer and Best Quick Trick of the 1992 convention.

In 1995 Chicane and his daughter Felicity won Best Stage Act at the 23rd New Zealand International Magician's Convention, held in Wanganui.

In 1996 the New Zealand Variety Artists Club honoured Chicane with a SCROLL OF HONOUR for: 'Creative, inventive and professional contributions to New Zealand Magical entertainment"

During 1999 at the 25th New Zealand International Magician's Convention, Chicane achived 1st place in 3 categories: Best Effect of the Convention, Best Quick Trick and Best Caberet Act.

Magic Writer and Lecturer, Chicane is the only New Zealand magician to have lectured at the famous Hollywood Magic Castle. His first book Commercial Chicanery was published in 1992, Magic Castle Lecture Notes followed in 1993 and Out Of The Pole Vault in 1998. Ten of his original ideas have been marketed world wide.

In The Great Kiwi Magic Show television special, Chicane conjured up the entire cast plus dancers, from a magical cabinet - all in front of a live studio audience.

Advertising Agency DDB Needham chose Chicane to help design and build the popular Ronald McDonald "Happy Meal Machine" road show.

Empire Events employed his talents in a special car transformation illusion for Peugeot. For the grand opening of a new clothing store he amused shoppers waiting in the long queues.

At the 27th NZ Magicians International Convention in June 2004 Auckland based magician The Amazing Chicane (Wayne Rogers) was honoured with the Supreme Award for excellence for a New Zealand magician . . . . the Grand Master of Magic Award.
